Throughout history, the Warriors of every culture have had some method of hidden, esoteric inner training. With it, they transformed their body, mind and spirit into their highest potential, and cultivated the Warrior within.

The Pillars of Mental Toughness

Over years of working with private coaching clients, there have been certain topics that come up consistently as they rewire their brains and their understanding of Mental Toughness.

Topics like confidence, focus, discipline, motivation, leadership, emotional intelligence, resilience, dominance, power, self-control, etc. 

There are a few of these qualities that form the most essential building blocks of Mindset.

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, true, scientific Mental Toughness boils down to two essential qualities in the brain: high dominance and low stress.

But as you transform your nervous system more and more deeply with NRW, a whole spectrum of qualities emerge–naturally, organically, and all by themselves.

Remember, these aren’t qualities you have to imitate. They’re the natural expressions of your primal instincts, once you’ve liberated them from your mental and physical tensions. You’ll feel these primal energies awakening and surging within you, transforming your body and mind into the Primal Warrior you were born to be.

Your brain already knows how to be confident, focused, disciplined, etc. You just have to get out of the way and let it. The advanced NRW exercises open the portal to these energies within you. All you have to do is walk through. 

When you unleash the primal energy locked up in your tensions, your innate confidence, will, killer-instinct and Warrior Spirit will become as much a part of you as the air you breathe. And like the air you breathe, they’re always on tap.

Each of these Pillars has an essential relationship to Mental Toughness in general, as well as your own NRW training. 

But our common understanding of these qualities is often wrong, and how as you gradually transform your nervous system toward true Mental Toughness, the true nature of these qualities reveals themselves. Each one of the Pillars reveals itself in a different way, organically, as a natural consequence of releasing the primal energies within the nervous system. In this sense, the body is the teacher.

Remember, you can’t ADD Mental Toughness to yourself. You have to unearth it WITHIN yourself. 

That’s what the advanced NRW techniques do: They demolish the old, rotten foundation, and build an indestructible Temple of Mental Toughness within you–Pillar by Pillar.

 

Nuts and Bolts:

How NRW Unleashes the Primal Warrior Within

NRW and true Mental Toughness training is a science.

It’s not airy-fairy New Age, pop-psychology. It’s a nuts and bolts process, like fixing an engine or overhauling a car. It works the way it works, and if you want to make it work for you, you have to do it right.

Different areas of the body contain different energies. And when you carry the loads of chronic neuromuscular tension in your body, those energies get stuck there. As we release the tensions and primal energies of the body with the advanced NRW exercises, we do it in a specific order.

With each of the 6 months in the Pillars of Mental Toughness, we focus on a different area of the body and release the energies of specific “Pillars” that are trapped there.

As the body and brain free themselves from the chronic neuromuscular tensions from over the course of a lifetime, they organically and automatically reprogram themselves to access these deep energies.

Each month of the Pillars of Mental Toughness program contains a full NRW session, which includes warmup exercises, a full session, and a special cool down exercise for deepening body awareness and relaxation to an amazing degree. 

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • Month 1: Discipline. You’ll get a full introduction to how a full NRW session works, including warmup exercises, a full session focusing on a very powerful breathing method (which will be used and built upon throughout the following months), and an introduction to a powerful “cool down” method of focusing attention on the body for huge leaps in awareness, energy, and relaxation. We’ll also explore the concept of true discipline–how building a solid foundation for your practice is essential for moving forward, and how when you access the power true discipline, it becomes effortless and easy.
  • Month 2: Focus. You’ll get an NRW session building on the foundation of the previous month’s introduction, and focusing on releasing deep tension in the incredibly important area of the eyes and face. We’ll also discuss how liberating the energies of this area gives you the laser-like focus of a Warrior.
  • Month 3: Confidence. You’ll get a full NRW session focusing on releasing deep tensions and energies in the neck, throat and shoulders. We’ll discuss how this area of the body relates to excavating primal, powerful confidence that cannot be shaken by any circumstance or stress. 
  • Month 4: Motivation. You’ll get a full NRW session that powerfully accesses the energies trapped in the core of the body, with specific attention to advanced breathing exercises to liberate the breath for massive increases in deep relaxation and energy. We’ll discuss how this inner source of power and energy generated by the core leads to source of true motivation that burns like an endless fire from within. 
  • Month 5: Resilience. You’ll get a full NRW session focusing on the tensions and energies of the legs and pelvis, liberating the power of the root of the body. We’ll discuss how having these powerful roots generates an invincible spirit of resilience, and allows you to weather any storm and face any challenge with poise, dominance and relaxed energy.
  • Month 6: Integrity.  You’ll get a full NRW session that integrates and combines exercises from throughout the body, coordinating the energies of the whole system to form an indestructible, Mentally Tough whole. We’ll discuss how this state of whole body-mind integration leads to permanent residence in your Natural State of Mental Toughness–getting and staying in the Zone.

The advanced NRW exercises contained in these workouts are very powerful. That’s why I’m giving you ONE, and only one training session per month. You can repeat it once or twice a week, as you see fit. I’m teaching you the work, a little at a time, so you can ease into it without their being too much danger of going too far too fast, and so you learn the fundamentals before moving on to anything more complex.

I recommend doing the full workout at least once a week, and no more than twice a week. Give yourself time to observe the effects it has on you, and don’t overdo it.

What Only One-on-One Coaching Can Give You

As with all true methods of Inner Training from throughout time, the true essence of NRW can only be communicated directly, one-on-one, from teacher to student.

It used to be necessary to travel long distances and go through many trials just to track down a real teacher in the Inner Disciplines. But now, thanks to technology, that’s not necessary at all. We can do it all over Skype–across the world, and from the comfort of our own homes.

As any serious athlete knows, coaching takes you way beyond where you can get even in the most hardcore solo training. That’s doubly true with NRW, due to the power of the techniques, and the importance of personalized sessions for maximum impact.

That’s why I offer personal contact in each Pillars of Mental Toughness membership option. With my experience, and having gone through the process myself, you’ll have a unique opportunity for private, one-on-one work to accelerate your Mental Toughness transformation.

That one-on-one element takes a few different forms…

Whichever level of membership you choose, you’ll have email access to me. You can get your personal questions answered as you’re working through the process. I’ll help you navigate the experience of energies coming up, and make sure to keep you on track so that your practice is always moving forward.

I’ll guide you through the work for that month, correct any errors you may be making, and take you deeper than you can get on your own. Everyone starts at a different place with their tensions and abilities to perform the exercises properly, and everyone has different challenges. By guiding you through the session, I’ll be able to see and correct those patterns and even personalize the session for you and your needs by adding exercises not included in the multimedia training, and giving you homework that will help your own personal march toward your Mental Toughness transformation.

And if you go for the Intensive option, you’ll get even more personalized attention. I’ll meet with you more often, work with you on personalizing your program, write specific schedules for your own work, give you a personalized daily routine, and work on integrating NRW with whatever other training you may be doing.

Of course, more private coaching would be better. Ideally, I’d be able to work with everyone, one-on-one, for every session. But I only have so much time, and not everyone can afford that kind of individual attention.

That’s why I created the training materials specifically to be as close to private coaching as possible, so I can let the materials do some of my work for me. That way I can provide a personalized coaching program for a very small number of people at a reasonable price. And the price you’ll get for this coaching system is a MUCH better deal than my regular rate.

In fact, while I think it’s incredibly important to have some element of private contact for these more advanced NRW sessions, you could make huge leaps and bounds with the materials alone, even if you never used your coaching certificates.

When you graduate, you’ll have the option to continue with private coaching, and continue to accelerate your Mental Toughness training. There are even more powerful and advanced techniques not included in the Pillars program, which I only teach in private coaching sessions. ‘Do I Qualify for Pillars of Mental Toughness?’

Usually I require that a person have at least some experience with the Tension Blaster Workouts before entering the Pillars program. But I’ve also designed Pillars to be a stand-alone intensive training program for anyone willing to do the work.

So, if you’re seeing this, it means you qualify. But I should be honest…this program still might not be for you.

A lot of people claim to want to develop Mental Toughness. But very few have what it takes to continue the work to completion.

That may seem odd, especially when you consider that Mental Toughness is really all about reducing stress and increasing dominance. Sounds good, right? But the fact is, a lot of people freak out when they start really attacking their deep tensions.

That’s because over the years, their tension has become a safety blanket. It keeps them feeling safe–even though it’s literally choking their life force out of them. And once you start defusing that tension, you’re going to come face to face with the dragon of your fear. All the stuff you’ve been holding back for years.

In short, you may get more than you bargained for. If you’re serious about Mental Toughness, that’s the best news possible. It gives you the chance to slay the dragon, get to the treasure of hidden life force, and be done with it once and for all. 

The Sheep need the tension. It protects them against life. The instinctual powers of the body would be too intense for them to handle. They’re satisfied with being a domesticated animal, with the dial on life turned way down.

So if that battle doesn’t sound like something you’re up for, you may want to stick with “safe” methods of relaxation, like massage or yoga, meditation or knitting with Grandma. Because this is the real deal. 

It’s like extreme sports. Some people live for it, and some people run screaming in the other direction. Some people live for the challenge, and others shrink away.

In training, competition, and life, that’s what separates the men from the boys.

 

This Isn’t a Four-Hour, Fast-Food Solution

The advanced NRW workouts in the Pillars program are incredibly powerful. But don’t expect an overnight solution.

Sure, you’ll start feeling the effects right away. And it won’t take more than a few hours a week to see significant, permanent change. But it takes time and consistency for the deeper impact to occur.

So don’t expect to sign up and have the Mental Toughness fairy wave a magic wand over your head. You’re going to have to learn new techniques, and work at them.

Should that be obvious? Yes. But I feel like I need to make this clear in today’s climate of quick-fix gimmicks–fast and easy ‘solutions’ that aren’t really a solution to anything.

Those gimmicks are like a fancy sports car without an engine. You can sit behind the wheel and pretend you’re starring in The Fast and the Furious 17, but when you get out, you’re going to be right where you started.

Be grateful these ideas are out there. They’ll keep your competitors off the scent. In fact, that’s what they’re there for: to keep you off the scent. To keep you comfortably mediocre. To keep you domesticated.

Fortunately, there is such a thing as the real thing.

And you found it.
